How to replace an electric scooter battery

Prepare Tools and Safety Gear

Before starting, make sure you have:

• Screwdrivers (Phillips or hex key, depending on your scooter)
• A compatible replacement battery (same voltage & connector type)
• Insulated gloves
• Safety glasses
• A clean, dry workspace

Access the Battery Compartment

1. Place the scooter on a stable surface.

2. Locate the battery compartment — usually under the deck or inside the main stem.

3. Use the appropriate screwdriver to remove the screws securing the cover.

4. Gently lift the cover and locate the battery pack.

Remove the Old Battery

Disconnect the battery connector from the controller. Avoid pulling on the wires; use the plug.

If there are securing straps or brackets, unfasten them.

Carefully lift the battery out of the compartment.

Inspect the compartment for dirt or corrosion and clean it if needed.

⚠️ Warning: Never short-circuit the battery terminals — this can cause sparks or damage.

Install the New Battery

Place the new battery in the compartment, ensuring it’s firmly seated.

Reattach any securing straps or brackets.

Connect the battery plug to the controller, ensuring correct polarity and a firm connection.

Replace the compartment cover and tighten the screws evenly.

Power on the scooter to check if the battery is recognized and functioning.

Fully charge the new battery before your first ride.
